A history of the Auschwitz Nazi concentration camp

During the Holocaust, more than 1 million people died at the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau. While the overwhelming majority of those were Jewish people, many other sections of society were used for forced labour or killed. Those who managed to survive found new homelands, including here in Australia. SBS reporter Georgia Maher explains.
