It was an absolute clusterfail. After weeks of assuring Australians that their data was safe, the Australian census website crashed early in the evening and still hasn't been reinstated.
The government seem to be a little confused on the matter - first they claimed there has been an hack, which was hardly reassuring to those concerned about privacy and data security - and then they downgraded to a DDOS attack.
So, what exactly does that mean? And what's going to happen going forwards?
