How do I add the SBS News app widget to my home screen
The iOS SBS News app allows you to add widgets to your device home screen as a quick view and shortcut into the app.
Android does not support widgets and therefore does not have this feature.
To enable a widget for your iOS device, there are two main steps to follow:
1. Choose which topic you want in your widget by following these steps:
  • Open the SBS News app
  • Tap on the Settings icon
  • Go to Widget
  • Select the topic you want to see in your widget

How do I watch a live stream on the SBS News app?
The SBS News app enables you to watch live streaming of different news events directly from the app.
There are three ways to access a live stream in the News app:
1. Open the SBS News App and check if the Live bubble in the homepage is activated with a red ring around it. This indicates a live stream is currently happening. To watch, tap the bubble and the video will start.
2. Open the SBS News App and go to Watch The live stream will be available on the top of the page under the Live section.
3.If you have enabled notifications, you will receive a notification whenever a live stream is active. Tap on the notification and that will open the streaming video in the SBS News app. To learn how to enable notifications, refer to the “How do I enable/disable notifications for the News app?” question.

How to view the SBS News app in Dark Mode?
SBS News app supports Dark Mode for both Android and iOS devices. To enable Dark Mode:
  1. Open the SBS News app
  2. Tap on the Settings icon
  3. Go to Display Settings
  4. If you would like the app to follow your device settings for Light or Dark Mode, toggle on the option called 'Use system theme'. If your device is set to Dark Mode, the app will also switch to Dark Mode.
  5. You can also control Light/Dark Mode settings for the News app separately from your device settings by choosing either Light Mode or Dark Mode and keeping Use system theme toggled off.

How to change the font size in the SBS News app
SBS news app allows you to change the font size to cater for your accessibility needs. To change the font:
1. Open SBS News app
2. Tap on the 'Settings' icon on the top right hand side corner
3. Select 'Display and Accessibility'
4. In the 'Accessibility' option, move the slider to change Article text size.

How do I enable/disable notifications for the SBS News app?
SBS News app notifications enable you to stay up to date with the latest news and events.
To enable/disable notifications, follow these steps:
