Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says more information cannot be publicly released at this time about the claim that individuals that are based overseas are paying people in Australia to carry out antisemitic attacks.
The Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police, Reece Kershaw, says investigators are working with the US, the UK, Canada and New Zealand to establish whether this is in fact happening.
Mr Albanese says it would be unwise to provide further details.
"The point is, is that when you have an investigation, sometimes it's a really good idea not to tell the people whom you are investigating all of that detail. And ghat is what is going on here. Nothing more, nothing less."

The UN's humanitarian co-ordinator for Gaza, Muhannad Hadi, says the situation there is rapidly improving.
Nearly 900 trucks worth of aid have entered since the latest ceasefire started.
Mr Hadi says people in Gaza have a strong desire to see reconstruction commence - and the economy recover.
He says this has been one of his greatest days in the job.
"When I entered Gaza this morning, it felt like this is probably one of the happiest days of my professional life over a period of humanitarian journey of 35 years. I entered Gaza. It was totally different to the many times I entered Gaza in the past 10,11 months. The people I met had a different, a different attitude. It made me very happy to see that people already started moving, some of them going back to their places of origin."

A number of prominent Indigenous Australians and leaders say they are supporting a petition for Australia Day to be moved from January 26.
The petition currently has more than 21,000 signatures and is calling for real and meaningful action to change the date of Australia's national day.
The date marks the day when British explored claimed Australia as a British colony with the action of raising the British flag for the first time in Sydney Cove.
But for Indigenous Australians view the day as a reminder of the deaths of their ancestors in what's known as the Frontier Wars - and the start of their dispossesion.
Wamba Wamba, Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung and Dhudhuroa woman Ngarra Murray is the Co-Chair of the First Peoples’ Assembly.
She says changing the date means all Australians can celebrate together on a day that doesn't represent pain for First Nations Australians.
"Their ripple effects are felt across generations, manifesting into social and economic and health inequalities that still persist today. To celebrate this date without acknowledging its impact is to ignore the pain and resilience of the First Peoples of this land. To change the date is to acknowledge the strength and resilience of our people who have survived."

A teenager from the Tiwi Islands north of Darwin has started a movement that’s seen people from across the Islands come together to rally against violence.
The event held on Bathurst Island saw service providers, police and dignitaries unite with community members in support of violence prevention.

His community experiences some of the highest rates of domestic and family violence in the country - something he hopes to change.
Longtime anti-family violence campaigner Charlie King says he is heartened by the show of support for change.
"I made a call to them about engaging to empower to the organisations, get involved with communities but make sure that what you're doing is helping them develop the strategies they think that need to be done on their own community."
