Telstra has apologised to customers unable to make or receive calls following an issue with the company's 4G network.
The communications giant said its 3G network was not affected following complaints by some customers on social media on Tuesday.
"We apologise for an issue impacting some 4G voice calls," a statement on Telstra's website said.
"Customers who are impacted can switch to 3G to make calls. Data and 3G services are not impacted.
"We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible."
Many customers took to social media to complain and requested compensation.
"This is absolutely ridiculous. What about those who run a business depending on your service?! Any reimbursement for us having to close up early because of this?!" one woman wrote on Facebook.
Another customer posted: "Been experience (sic) these issues today. Constant 'call failed' when trying to make a call and dropouts just after answering. Makes it hard to run a business".
