A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder over the death of a teenage boy who was allegedly stabbed in an Indigenous community in Darwin on Tuesday.
The boy faced the youth justice court via video link on Wednesday, while his father and other relatives watched on in court.
Northern Territory Police and paramedics responded to reports of an altercation at the Bagot community at 3.20am.
A15-year-old boy was found unconscious, badly injured and bleeding. He was taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment but died shortly after at 6am.
NT Police said that investigations into the matter were ongoing.On Tuesday, Detective Senior Sergeant Troy Stephens said police believed the two boys were known to each other, but their exact relationship was not clear.

"There were a number of people present, as it is a community where a lot of people live," he said.
"As to how closely involved people are or aren't, that's still to be investigated."
No application for bail was made and the boy has been remanded in detention.
The matter has been adjourned to 1 July.
