Actor Trystan Go is always performing - in the classroom, on stage or on screen.
The 17-year-old, best known for his breakthrough role as Benjamin Law on the SBS comedy 'The Family Law', which depicts the struggles of growing up gay and Asian in Australia, says it's a constant juggling back between school and the studio.
"Filming and going to school really is a balancing act and it's not an easy one, but I've been taking time off school since year 7," he told SBS News.
The teen is now in the middle of shooting 'Occupation Rainfall', the sequel to Australian produced sci-fi film 'Occupation', alongside US actor Ken Jeong and Daniel Gillies.
"He's so funny (Ken Jeong) he improvises so much," he said of the co-star.
"That role is different to anything I've done before.
"Who would've thought I'd get to shoot aliens on the Gold Coast?"
Trystan, a year 12 student at Sydney's St Andrew's Cathedral School, is now bringing his acting chops back to the classroom.
This time, it's the school musical - Fiddler on the Roof, with Trystan playing the role of a poor Jewish milkman, struggling to get by in pre-revolutionary Russia.
In between rehearsals, the star is also studying for a business exam.
"In my downtime at the theatre I've been studying and I've got classmates doing the show as well so we've been sitting together and hitting the books," he said.
Trystan has already earned acclaim for his TV roles - even potentially vying for a shot at a Silver Logie for Most Popular Actor and Most Outstanding Actor - but he's also receiving praise at school.
"He manages to balance his academic work with his work as a leader in the school and also his involvement in our performing arts program," St Andrew's Cathedral School creative arts director Christian Watson told SBS News.
"He always does it with humility and organisation.
"We've got a lot of structures that allow him to remain connected to the school environment and keep him connected to his schoolwork."
The Family Law is also a candidate for nomination for Most Popular Comedy Program.
The St Andrew's Cathedral school musical production of 'Fiddler on the Roof' kicks off at NIDA's Parade Theatre on April 4.
