Sydney columnist Adele Horin dies

Walkley Award-winning journalist and former Fairfax columnist Adele Horin has died from lung cancer.

Former Fairfax columnist Adele Horin has died at the age of 64.

The Walkley Award-winning journalist revealed in her final blog post last week that her lung cancer had "raged back" and the prognosis was poor.

She died on Saturday, Fairfax reported.

"At a time when so much journalism is reduced to black and white, Adele's considered and caring approach to storytelling reminded us of the power of balance, nuance and depth in reporting," Sydney Morning Herald editor in chief Darren Goodsir said.

"She will be greatly missed but her spirit will continue to be honoured at the Herald."
