Soft drinks shouldn't be sold in NSW hospitals, the state opposition says.

Labor's health spokesman Walt Secord wants all local health districts to follow the lead of Murrumbidgee Local Health District, which banned the sale of sugary, fizzy drinks at 31 health facilities in Wagga Wagga, Griffith and Hay areas last month.

"This is about changing the habits of Australia's children," Mr Secord said on Tuesday.
