US outdoor clothing company Patagonia has vowed to take on President Donald Trump by donating the $US10 million (A$13.7 million) it saved from recent tax cuts to environmental protection groups.
Changes to the corporate tax rate went into effect in 2018, giving corporations a boost by dropping their tax rate from 35 per cent to 21 per cent.
In a letter posted to LinkedIn, Patagonia’s CEO Rose Marcario made the announcement, saying the donations are a direct response to Mr Trump's tax policies.

"We have always paid our fair share of federal and state taxes," she wrote.
"Taxes protect the most vulnerable in our society, our public lands and other life-giving resources.
"In spite of this, the Trump administration initiated a corporate tax cut, threatening these services at the expense of our planet."
The company's announcement comes less than a week after a Trump administration warned of the dire threat that human-caused climate change poses to the United States and its citizens.

The National Climate Assessment on climate change warns that unless significant changes are made, humans could be facing catastrophic and irreversible changes to our planet by 2050.
But when asked about the report, Mr Trump simply said: "I don’t believe it".
