NT royal commission to be extended

The royal commission into NT's juvenile justice system will be extended to give parties more time to respond.

The royal commission into the Northern Territory juvenile justice system will be extended.

Attorney-General George Brandis has recommended to the governor-general that the reporting date be extended until November 17 following a request from the royal commission.

The extension will ensure parties have enough time to respond to notices of adverse material and will be covered by the inquiry's existing budget.
