It appears there were no Australian casualties in the Manchester concert bombing which killed 22 people.

"We have established so far of all the victims that have been identified that none of them is Australian and there are still some victims yet to be identified and that could take several days but we have no indication that any of them is an Australian either," Australia's High Commissioner to London, Alexander Downer told ABC TV.

He described the mood in Britain as defiant, with people regarding the attack as "an exercise in cruel and wicked futility" which wouldn't change the country.
