Victoria's embattled Youth Affairs Minister Jenny Mikakos will face interrogation from a budget estimates inquiry.
Ms Mikakos will front the public accounts and estimates committee on Tuesday morning.
As minister in charge of the state's troubled youth justice system, Ms Mikakos has come under fire for her handling of the portfolio.
A series of riots made parts of the Parkville Youth Justice Centre uninhabitable - so she moved detainees into the maximum security, adult Barwon prison.
That move sparked a series of legal challenges that the government continuously lost, with courts finding the move breached the teens' human rights.
There was also a mass escape from Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre in January and public outcry over the location of a new youth jail in Werribee.
While Ms Mikakos faces scrutiny at one inquiry, evidence will be given to another probe of the youth justice system.
The Community and Public Sector Union, Police Association Victoria and Victorian Legal Aid will all speak at parliament's legal and social issues committee youth justice inquiry on Tuesday.
