Senate crossbencher Jacqui Lambie has joined other senators in alleging Scott Morrison is a bully in a scathing character assessment of the prime minister.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Wednesday denied in a fiery speech on budget night.
One Nation Senator Pauline Hanson has since made the same allegation against him in the Senate.
The independent senator on Thursday added her voice to criticism of Mr Morrison's behaviour citing her personal experience during their interactions.
“Scott Morrison is a bully — he is an intimidating bully — there is no doubt about that,” Senator Lambie told reporters.
“If you’re not sitting there like he’s a messiah, you’re in the outer. it’s that simple.”
She used the example of negotiations with Mr Morrison during negotiations in 2019 to .
Senator Lambie brokered the deal in exchange for her support to repeal , which were passed against the government's will in the .
She alleged Mr Morrison had been an “intimidating bully” during the negotiations.
“This bloke has no idea how to communicate with women and the only way he can get his own way is intimidating and bullying them — that is how Scott Morrison works,” Senator Lambie said.
Mr Morrison on Wednesday responded to allegations levelled by Senator Fierravanti-Wells who said he was "ruthless" and "lacking a moral compass" hours after the reveal of the federal budget.
The senator had lost preselection for her NSW upper house seat at the weekend.
Speaking to SBS News, Mr Morrison said he understood Senator Fierravanti-Wells was “disappointed” by the preselection process.
When asked whether he would be doing some "soul-searching" about his own behaviour, the prime minister replied, "no", adding: "I have provided strong support for my team".
He said would be willing to be held accountable through an inquiry into the claims.
"Our party has that process, and I would encourage Senator Fierravanti-Wells to raise those issues directly as part of that process,” he said.
Liberal Senator Jane Hume on Thursday said that was "an easy accusation for someone who has it in for the government".
The senator — who is also superannuation minister — said she has never been bullied by the prime minister.
"I can safely say this prime minister is not a bully and he has been extraordinarily supportive of all the women I work with," Senator Hume told ABC Radio on Thursday.
"Yet these things seem to fall by the wayside when an easy accusation is made by somebody who has it in for this government."
Former Liberal prime minister John Howard told the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age that Mr Morrison may be "forceful" but he was not a bully.
"I haven't seen any evidence that (Mr Morrison) is a bully, that he's arrogant or any of that. Forceful? Well, anybody who gets to be the leader of a political party is forceful," he said.
Independent MP Zali Steggall said she had not personally faced bullying by Mr Morrison.
"My engagements with him, meetings, have been cordial and professional,” Ms Steggall said.
“But I would say the conduct I’ve observed in parliament and in public life are frequently disrespectful and have elements of a bully.”
