Interpol has raised an alert for alleged war criminal Captain Dragan, who has been missing for more than a week.
Late last month the High Court ruled that he should be extradited to for questioning over war crimes he allegedly committed in the Balkans in the 1990's.
The Australian Federal Police have been on the hunt for Captain Dragan, also known as Dragan Vasiljkovic or Daniel Snedden, but has not managed to capture him.
He successfully appealed against Croatia's 2006 extradition request last year, with the full bench of the Federal Court deciding he would receive an unfair trial if sent to Croatia.
More than a week ago the High Court overruled that decision.
AFP caught unawares
The Australian Federal Police have been on the lookout for the former Serbian paramilitary leader, searching the home he lived in on the northern NSW coast.
Now international policing agency Interpol has released a red notice for his arrest.
The ABC is reporting that a spokesman for Home Affairs Minister Brendan O'Connor said the AFP has used a number of resources in its attempt to capture the alleged fugitive.
Croatia's prosecution concerns
The Croatian government has confirmed that if Mr Vasiljkovic absconds from Australia, he may end up out of the reach of its criminal justice system, The Australian newspaper reported.
But, Serbia's deputy prosecutor for war crimes Bruno Vekari told media that if Mr Vasiljkovic was found in Serbia, he would be delivered to prosecutors.
Once found, Captain Dragan's fate lies with the Home Affairs Minister Brendan O'Connor.
