Staff manning a Trump campaign hotline have reportedly been inundated with prank calls after it was set up to try to find examples of voter fraud, with social media users apparently reporting nefarious activities by “an orange Russian agent”, a competitive fiddle player and a character resembling the Hamburglar.
America’s ABC News has reported that the hotline set up to collect examples of so-called voter fraud has been bombarded with calls from people trolling Trump staff about Democratic candidate Joe Biden’s election win.
Twitter and TikTok users have started sharing prank call recordings - including TV series creator Alex Hirsch, who said he had called to report the McDonald’s Hamburglar.
“I saw a man, he walked into this building and he was wearing black, he had a black hat, black mask, striped shirt and a red tie, and um, I believe there were hamburgers in his bag,” Mr Hirsch is heard saying in the recording of his call, before the operator hangs up.
“He was saying ‘robble robble’ as he left the building - like a burglar. You know, I think he’s probably ANTIFA.”
In another call, Mr Hirsch poses as someone else to say he is proud to have committed voter fraud and wanted to tell Rudy Giuliani about it.
“Great, um, awesome,” the impressed call operator says.On TikTok, one user apparently told an operator she had seen people , while another left a message that an “orange, Russian agent was trying to steal the election”.

Another woman recorded herself in a phone call she encountered when voting.
“I was in line to vote, and like, there was this guy there, and I don’t know that this is considered fraud or anything, but he was there and he challenged me to a fiddle competition,” she said.
“He had, like, red skin and horns, and was very adamant about a fiddle competition.”
The Trump campaign set up the hotline following last week’s election, despite there being no evidence of voter fraud.
Mr Trump has doubled down on his unfounded claims of the election being "stolen", as Mr Biden and his advisers to tackle the coronavirus crisis, economic recovery, racial equity and climate change.
While the Trump campaign has mounted legal challenges to the election results in several states, no evidence has emerged of widespread irregularities that would overturn the results.
