Addressing violent extremism will be the focus of crisis talks between police and the Islamic community in Sydney.
Muslim community leaders will meet with NSW Premier Mike Baird and Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione on Monday after the Parramatta shooting that claimed the life of veteran police accountant Curtis Cheng.
"I look forward to joining Commissioner Scipione for a wide-ranging discussion with Muslim leaders on measures that (they) are working to counter violent extremism, (and) new initiatives police and the government are working on as well," Mr Baird said in a statement to AAP on Sunday.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has called an urgent meeting of security chiefs on Thursday to address the spread of violent extremism.
Mr Cheng, a father of two, was killed as he left work at Parramatta police headquarters on October 2 by Farhad Khalil Mohammad Jabar who was then fatally shot by special constables.
Mr Cheng, 58, will be farewelled in a funeral at St Mary's Cathedral on Saturday.
An 18-year-old Parramatta man remains in police custody after being arrested in connection with the shooting in dawn raids last Wednesday.
Three other men were released without charge.
