Greens leader Richard Di Natale has finally produced proof he properly renounced his Italian citizenship after two of his deputies were forced to resign.

Mr Di Natale was sent scrambling for official confirmation after Scott Ludlam and Larissa Waters resigned in the past week after admitting they'd failed to renounce citizenship from New Zealand and Canada respectively.

"Ecco qui. Non sono Italiano! (Here goes. I'm not Italian!)" he posted to Twitter on Friday, alongside a certificate from the Italian consulate.
