Acid attack survivor new face of Indian fashion brand

Indian acid attack survivor Laxmi Saa has refused to allow her injuries to stop her, and is now the face of a fashion brand.

An acid attack survivor has become the new face of a Indian fashion brand as part of its Face of Courage campaign.

Laxmi Saa, 26, was attacked with acid when she was 15 years old after she refused to marry a 37-year-old man.

She has since spoken out against the sale of acid and called for harsher penalties for offenders.

She representing the brand, Viva n Diva, was an "opportunity to represent an apparel brand was a platform for me to set an example for women like me to be confident and have courage despite their physical appearances".

"This was also a platform for me to send a clear message to criminals that women will not lose courage even after they are attacked with acid to destroy their physical beauty," she said.

In a video posted to YouTube, Ms Saa poses in a variety of outfits and speaks about how "beauty is in the eyes".

"No matter what comes, make an attempt to live every moment to the fullest," she says in the video.

"This is when you enjoy your life without any fear, and when you do it, you live an example of true beauty and courage."
