Rain, hail or shine, cricket fans are celebrating the T20 worldcup extravaganza

T20 super 12 opening-match at SCG has avoided interruption by rain but New Zealand set the bar high as blackcap outclassed defending champion Australia in every field and easily won the match by 89 runs. Despite initial upsets and gloomy forecasts, fans are celebrating the event as an international funfair festival.

The opening macth of super 12 stage of T20 World Cup 2022 has attracted a near capacity crowd at Sydney Cricket Ground despite lingering rain forecast. It was Australia's heaviest defeat in a T20 World Cup and their second largest of all time in the 20-over format.

Opening match has avoided any interruption by rain but now all eyes are on MCG where arch rivals India and Pakistan are going face to face. Match will be played in front of a sold out crowd since additional standing room tickets released two months ago were sold within minutes.

Ali has travelled from Pakistan to watch the tournament and expecting a good contest.

A Pakistani fan group from US travelled to watch the tournament.
Shane Warne's tweets will be missed this time but last year Aussie legend tweeted about the figure of one billion viewers across the globe watching India Pakistan match in T20 worldcup 2021. This tweet is still echoed as a lead for viewership about 23 October's battle that is again expected to cross over one billion on TV and other platforms.
