Karpahavalli Carnatic Music Organisation (‘KV’) was founded in 2007, as an independent organisation that focuses solely on the beautiful art of Carnatic music. Based in Sydney, run by students for students of Carnatic music in Australia. This is the fifth year, KV has organised Vaggeya Vaibhavam, a forum to celebrate Carnatic music composers and their compositions. A. S Murali is one of the three artists who have come from Tamil Nadu, India to participate. For five generations, Carnatic music has been a way of life for A. S Murali and his family. He talks to Kulasegaram Sanchayan about his family and his interest in music.
