Last year, 25 families from the village of Vuniniudrovu in Viti Levu had to relocate to higher ground as a result of rising sea levels.
According to Makereta Waqavonovono of Climate Tok in Fiji, more than 40 other villages will need to be relocated to higher ground as a result of rising sea levels flooding their traditional homes where generations of ancestors are buried.
