Hosts India managed to clinch the second test match in a thrilling win on Tuesday, levelling the series 1-1. But that hasn't ended the recriminations which continued throughout the match.
The match was as much about the verbal duels and on-field controversies as it was about the ball and bat.
But the heated exchange on Chinnaswamy stadium didn’t end with the match.
Indian captain Virat Kohli accused Australian skipper Steve Smith of ‘cheating’ without mentioning the word himself.
“There are lines you don’t cross on the cricket field. Sledging is different, but I won’t mention the word but it falls into that bracket. I would never do something like that on the field.”
Asked if that word was “cheating”, the Indian captain said “I didn’t say that you did”.
Virat was alluding to Steve Smith looking towards the dressing room after he was given LBW, to consider whether to go for a DRS referral.
Capt Steve Smith said it was a mistake and he shouldn’t have done it, calling it a “brain fade”.
However, Kohli was has been unrelenting in his attack alleging the Australians had done this repeatedly.
