Police have been told two men, perceived to be of African appearance and armed with a machete and a large rock, attended the Heatherton road business just after 4am in Melbourne’s southeast.
The men threatened the attendant before stealing the till and fleeing on foot.
Both men were described as being tall, and had their faces covered by t-shirts.
It is reported that the servo station attendant was threatened before being robbed of 300 dollars.
Inder Saini told Nine News the attendants were traumatised after the invasion.
“The workers said, take whatever you want but don’t harm us,” said Mr Saini.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
The CCTV cameras were not operational at the time of incidence.
