This is the biggest crackdown on undocumented workers after President Trump took office. From Los Angeles to New York, as many as 98 stores were raided by Department of Immigration, Customs and Enforcement who has issued a firm warning to all others as well, who may have hired illegal workers.

The Director of ICE, Thomas D. Homan said in a statement, “ICE will enforce the law, and if you are found to be breaking the law, you will be held accountable.”

He further said that the department will continue its efforts to protect jobs for American workers and firmly deal with those who exploit illegal immigration.

Another top official Derek N Benner said that department is not only targeting the big companies but would also be focussing on all those who may be hiring illegal workers.

A statement issued by 7-Eleven says they are "fully aware of these raids".

They go on to say, "All the franchises of 7-Eleven are run by independent owners and at end of the day it is their responsibility to ensure that the workforce that they are hiring has due work rights to work in US."

The statement further said that the company takes compliance of immigration laws seriously and has terminated licences of those franchises who were found not complying the law.
