Muitos jornalistas estavam esperando por ela no aeroporto internacional de Brisbane, mas ela não foi vista.
A porta voz da familia, Eleanor Whitman, disse que a família esta pedindo privacidade, mas que a família também estava muito agradecida pelo apoio que Schapelle Corby tem recebido

A acadêmica Lauren Rosewarne, da área de politica da Universidade de Melbourne, disse que a volta de Schapelle à Austrália ainda não é o último capítulo da sua história, uma vez que a mídia continuará interessada nela.
Segundo a acadêmica, a família de Schapelle usou a mídia em seu beneficio e agora deve arcar com as consequências.
"There's few stories that have captivated Australia for this long and I think we've made an emotional investment.
How does this story end? What becomes of her? I don't think she's going to go away into obscurity just yet.
The tricky thing is her family used the media to their advantage when it suited them and I don't think you can do that with the press and then expect them to just go away because we took, at least some of us, took her into their hearts and their minds and therefore that idea of just thinking that interest is just going to be dropped I think is unreasonable."
