Alireza Japalaghy is well-known for performing acrobatic stunts between some of the tallest buildings in the Iranian capital Tehran.
However, his most recent stunt resulted in his arrest on Monday morning, according to local media and a family member.
A set of images of the stunt posted by Japalaghy, dubbed the “dawn of Tehran”, show the daredevil kissing his girlfriend atop the Iranian capital's Sadr Bridge.
The images apparently caught the ire of the authorities, who enforce a mandatory policy for women and girls to wear the Hijab when they are out of their homes.
Following the stunt, a number of police officers arrested him at his home, his brother , affirming that officers said they had a warrant despite not showing it.
His brother said the police told Japalaghy that his videos “did not comply with Islamic customs".
"Today they came to our house and took him. I have not seen anything like this even in movies, they come and knock, ring the door, and come into the home," his brother said.
"There are so many people doing much worse things on Instagram. A sport clip should not create all this problem. I don’t understand it.”
On a video posted to his Instagram, Japalaghi said he was "asked by phone to come forward to explain."
But he did not say who contacted him.
“This morning they called me and a guy told me you should come here to answer some questions. Then I said what has happened? He replied, if anything had happened we would have come for you," Japalaghy said.
"Then I said so if nothing has happened why should I come there? To answer what?” then he said there is a judicial order. [They said] you should come here to answer some questions."
Iranian security officials are yet to comment on the arrest.
Parkour has become increasingly popular among the Iranian youth over recent years and is seen as an outlet for girls in the hard-line Islamic country, despite the bulkier clothing and head coverings that the Islamic dress codes require them to wear.
