Jodie Paton, the Chief People Officer at HOYTS Group, recently discussed their partnership with the Australian Film Television & Radio School (AFTRS) in an interview with NITV Radio.
Jodie emphasised the importance of this partnership in providing access to education and practical experience for First Nations students, aiming to foster greater representation and success within film and television.
Beyond the scholarship, Jodie also highlighted HOYTS Group's Reconciliation Action Plan, which was released this year. Through their RAP, HOYTS has committed to continued engagement and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The scholarship program is a part of their broader effort to contribute to reconciliation and promote cultural awareness within the organisation and the film sector.
The initiative is expected to open doors for First Nations students by offering financial support for their studies, as well as industry exposure, aligning with HOYTS’ ongoing dedication to amplifying First Nations voices within Australian film and television.
