On Tuesday, 20 August, Nepal is celebrating Gai Jatra. Known as 'Sa Paru' in the Newari language, this festival is observed in the memory of loved ones. Since the 2010s, Gai Jatra has taken on a new dimension with the country's LGBTIQ+ community celebrating it as a Pride Festival. Blue Diamond Society founder Sunil Babu Pant spoke to SBS Nepali about the parade's history and significance.
