The inauguration of the Indonesia's President-elect and Vice President-elect for 2024-2029 Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka will take place on Sunday, 20 October 2024. What is the main concern of the Indonesian Diaspora regarding the new leaders?

As "informal ambassador", the Indonesian Diaspora hopes that the elected Indonesian leaders will be able to continue the impactful contributions the country has made in the global world and foster stability, without forgetting its domestic issues.

This message was conveyed by the President of the Indonesian Diaspora Network (IDN) New South Wales, Dr Salut Muhidin, to SBS Indonesian ahead of the inauguration of the elected Indonesian president and vice president on 20 October.

The senior lecturer in demography and regional development at the Macquarie University also gave his views regarding whether the new leaders will drive the migration of Indonesians to, among other countries, Australia.
