The pilot of the Susi Air plane, Captain Philip Mark Mehrtens has been held hostage for more four months, and there is no sign yet of being released.

Papuan human rights advocate, Yones Dou, in the following interview said that from the news in the church network in the interior, it is known that Philip is alive and in quite good condition.
Even so, Philip's release remains a priority. A

commitment from the West Papua National Liberation Army - Free Papua Organization, is needed in this case.

The central government in Jakarta also has a role, at least by undertaking a dialogue process.

Yones reminded the peaceful efforts in Aceh succeeded in 2004, should a similar peaceful move be carried out in Papua.
