Melbourne’s Sri Vakrathunda Vinayagar Temple has been an integral part for Melbourne’s Indian community, and this incident has left many worshippers concerned about safety and security.

The recent theft at Melbourne's Ganesh Temple has heightened concerns regarding the security of religious institutions. CCTV footage captures two masked individuals allegedly breaking into the temple and stealing over $5,000 from the donation box. In response, the temple management has decided to transition to a cashless system. This incident follows a similar one at the Murugan Temple in Rockbank in western suburb of Melbourne.
