Bangla New South Wales is the oldest Indian association in Australia. It was established in 1975 with a handful of Indians. And Durga Pooja was started the same year. Now it is one of the largest celebrations of an Indian festival.

More than 2000 people join hands to celebrate Durga Pooja in Style. BNSW president Bobby Mallick says, "Poojo is something which I don't do alone even if I am the president of with my 9 committe members. Poojo everyone does. There is a cooking team. There is a distribution team. There is a decoration team. Everything is done so internally on voluntary basis."
