Two families in Melbourne’s north-west woke up terrified after aggravated burglaries in the early hours of this morning.
The two incidents occurred at Airport West and Essendon in Melbourne.
In the first incident, a husband and wife were woken by smashing glass and yelling before they locked themselves in the bedroom ensuite of their Airport West home about 3.45am.
When they felt they were safe they checked their home and discovered their grey 2011 Volkswagen Scirocco coupe with registration VJT086 was missing, along with the woman’s purse and valuable watches.
On this occasion it appears the unknown offenders smashed through bi-fold doors at the front of the property to get in.

In the second incident a family of four, including two young children, were all woken when a boulder, believed to have been from a neighbours garden, smashed through their rear bi-folding doors about 4.55am.
All of the victims made their way into the living area of the Kerferd Street home where they were confronted by three males of African appearance who made demands for the keys to their cars.
The father threw the keys to his Holden sedan at the offenders while they continued to yell for the keys to his Jeep.
He threw another set of keys at the trio before they fled picking up a wallet from the kitchen bench.
The offenders made off in the victim’s car a distinctive black 2015 Holden Club Sport Anniversary model.
The registration number is AFL268 and it is described as being all black, with black badges and black rims.
Police have been told there are only 100 of the cars in circulation.
The Holden was spotted by police on Milleara Road turning into Keilor Park Drive in Keilor East, heading toward the Western Ring Road about 5am. The Jeep was not stolen.
Police believe at this time that the two incidents are linked.
