37-year-old taxi driver Jatinder Panesar has been charged over a fatal crash with a mini-bus in northern Victoria that killed one and injured 12 other passengers, reports.
Panesar was driving a taxi carrying two passengers when it collided with a mini-bus carrying Mercy Place nursing home residents from Shepparton at Ardmona, a town located in northern Victoria and close to Shepparton.
The nursing home residents were returning from a trip to the bakery when the collision happened.
A woman in her 80s died at the scene and 12 other people were hurt. Police said some had life-threatening injuries.
Jatinder Panesar was arrested and charged with one court of dangerous driving causing death.
He appeared at the Shepparton Magistrates Court on Wednesday and was released on bail.
He will have to surrender his passport and under his bail conditions he must not drive in or leave Victoria, reported.
He has been directed to report regularly to police and is to face court again on October 24.
