Namak Para or Namak Pare are pastry like crunchy snack lightly seasoned with carom seeds. This is an Indian traditional snack enjoyed with a cup of tea. You can also eat it with spiced mango or lemon pickle.

Ingredients
- 2 cups plain flour
- 4-5 tbsp oil
- Oil for frying
- Salt to taste
- Warm water as needed
- 1 tsp carom seeds/ajwain
Method
- In a bowl add the flour, salt, carom seeds, and 4-5 tbsp of oil.
- Mix all these ingredients well.
- Add warm water gradually and knead it into a tight dough.
- Let it sit for 20 mins.
- After 20 mins, roll the dough into the desired thickness and cut into long diamond strips.
- Heat the oil for frying.
- Add the strips to the oil and fry till golden brown.
They are now ready to eat. You can store them in a air tight container too to eat later. They taste yum with some chai. Enjoy!
