The high profile Australian delegation, which visited Israel and included former Liberal PM John Howard, former Labor Treasurer Wayne Swan, former Liberal Foreign Minister Alexander Downer, former Liberal Defence Minister Brendan Nelson and former Labor Communications Minister Stephen Conroy, participated in the moving annual commemoration of the ANZACs who fought to liberate Bersheva on the 31st November 1917 and some of whom fell and are buried at the ANZAC cemetery there. - The high level Australian delegation of former ministers and local Jewish leaders, participating in the annual commemoration of the ANZACs who fought to liberate Bersheva in WWI, expressed their deep emotions, pride and respect for the fallen ANZACs and praised the IDF for their heroic and determined effort to protect the Jewish State and its people. - The anniversary of the Kristallnacht Pogrom of the 9th to 10th November 1938, perpetrated by the Nazis against Jews, their community, their homes, synagogues, organisations and businesses in Germany and Austria, is being commemorated in Australia and around the world.
