The Indian cricket team is playing the first of four test match series versus Australia in Adelaide. The team has practised hard for the match and engaged many fans to come and see them during the training sessions.
Rohit Sharma and R Ashwin, two of the most celebrated Indian cricketers, amazed their fans when they chose to walk to the hotel from the stadium.
A video posted by shows Rohit and Ashwin walking towards their hotel. Rohit said in the video, "The stadium is just right there (pointing out), and the hotel is right there (pointing out).
So it is like two minutes’ walk and those (cricketers) who go by bus will take 20 minutes. So, we thought, we can save time."
Ashwin said, "It is a nice pathway, you can never walk on the road in India. It is a lovely walk we are enjoying."
We won't disappoint our fans: Rohit
"We always get good support from Indian fans, we love to play cricket here in Australia and we are looking forward to playing an exciting series. This time around, we hope, we won't disappoint our fans," said Rohit.
Rohit added, "People are following us on the pathway back to the hotel, let's talk to them."
Rohit interviewed some fans and asked them about their hopes for the series and about their favourite cricketers.
The cricketers took selfies and gave autographs to their fans and totally surprised them.
'One thing you should know is that all of us (Indian Team) love the fans and we don't want to disappoint them but it is not easy to meet and greet everyone.
