Saint Elesa Food Initiave is a program by the Greek Orthodox Parish and Community of Kogarah that will begin early October. Every Monday afternoon, starting from the first week of October, volunteers will cook and pack meals which will then be handed out to people from the community who need it.
‘’Father Kyriakos Stavronikitianos and Father Dimitrios Papaikonomou wanted to help the community, to offer a meal with the help of the faithful’’ said Mrs Nektaria Tsoukarelli, from the Parish – Community of Kogarah.
‘’Kogarah has a lot of philanthropic organisations but nothing like this.’’
The homemade meals are for everyone, regardless of race or religion and will be distributed to people in Kogarah’s Hogben Park,
‘’Along with the meal we will also provide other things, like coffee and snacks’’
The program starts on Monday 5 of October, between 5-6 pm.
