The Victorian Opposition Leader told SBS Greek that he will reduce taxes.
While he didn’t outline specific changes, he emphasized the need for reforms that make homeownership more accessible while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
Mr. Pesutto plans to introduce policies aimed at retaining healthcare professionals, including better working conditions and targeted incentives for doctors, nurses, and health workers.
When asked about Federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton’s proposal to include nuclear energy in the state’s energy mix, while not ruling out nuclear energy, he noted that careful deliberation would be required and the return of the gas supply to all Victorian households.
Mr. Pesutto reaffirmed his commitment to addressing racism and fostering inclusivity and praised the significant contributions of Melbourne’s Greek communities, describing their role as integral to Victoria’s cultural fabric.
On education and language programs, Mr. Pesutto promised continued support for Greek schools and cultural preservation initiatives.
He called for a return to the Liberal Party party’s centrist roots, inspired by leaders like Rupert Hamer and Jeff Kennett, while fostering broad appeal through consultation and vision.
