Nowadays, having a credit card in your pocket is a matter of course. Without a credit card, you can no longer shop in many stores today, because cash is no longer accepted in many places. That was completely different 50 years ago. Credit cards were almost unknown and only reserved for a small, really rich clientele. The former Labor government wanted to change that and make shopping easier for all Australians. Australia's very own credit card was born.
