In their first-ever concert tour in several major cities in Australia and New Zealand, the Philippines' alternative band December Avenue has proven their popularity among younger Filipino audience with majority of their shows being all sold-out.

Meet the Filipino band December Avenue and their 'hugot' songs

The five-member band, consists of Zel Bautista on vocals and guitar, Don Gregorio on bass, Jet Danao on drums, Jem Manuel on keyboards, and Gelo Cruz on lead guitar, had shows in Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide,

The band was first established in 2008 as a university band and slowly created their own music.

They first gained popularity in 2018 with their hit song "Kung 'Di Rin Lang Ikaw" which featured fellow Filipino artist Moira Dela Torre.

The song topped the charts in the Philippines and even received local music awards. With that song, they became viral hit on social media, and earned a huge following.

Since then, December Avenue has released several successful singles including "Sa Ngalan ng Pag-ibig", "Bulong", and "Huling Sandali". Their music is known for its "hugot-themed" or emotional lyrics and catchy melodies, with influences from both rock and pop genres.
