As an international student, adapting to a new country and culture posed its own set of challenges. On top of that, he faced the daunting battle against cancer. However, amidst these trials, Lynco found solace and camaraderie in an unexpected place: Zumba.
“I built friendships through Zumba,” Lynco shares. As a Zumba instructor, he not only taught dance but also created a space where people could come together, move to the rhythm, and form bonds that transcended the dance floor. Zumba, with its energetic and inclusive nature, became more than just a fitness class; it became a community.
In the dance studio, barriers of language and cultural differences dissolved as everyone moved in sync to the music. For Lynco, each class was an opportunity to connect with others, to share in the joy of movement, and to support one another.
“I felt supported through my fitness community,” he adds, reflecting on the friendships he has formed. This support was a vital source of strength, reminding him that he was not alone.
