攝影界重大時刻來了，。這些照片分別來自 200 多個國家，從超過 200,000 張提交給公開組比賽的照片中精選出來。
入圍和獲獎的作品將在 2023 年 4 月 14 日至 5 月 1 日於倫敦的 Somerset House 舉辦的 Sony世界攝影大賽展覽中展出。而公開賽的總冠軍將於 4 月 13 日在倫敦宣布。
比賽對所有包括專業和業餘攝影師開放，比賽分為十個類別，包括建築（Architecture）、創意（Creative）、風景（Landscape）、生活（Lifestyle）、動態（Motion）、自然界和野生動物（Natural World & Wildlife）、物體（Object）、肖像（Portraiture）、街頭攝影（Street Photography）和旅行（Travel）。
