Since his first role as an education journalist, in the year 2000, Che-Chun Kuan (Jeff) has held a variety of positions in the media industry. He has been an associate producer for a television talk show, an online news editor, and an international news translator and editor for a 24-hour news channel. Jeff was eventually selected for the role of chief reporter for the best-selling magazine Next Magazine Taiwan, before making his way to Sydney in 2016. As a new migrant, Che-Chun was eager to learn everything he could about Australia and SBS media was an essential cultural resource. In 2021, Che-Chun joined SBS Mandarin, as a Mandarin Cross-Platform Journalist/Presenter and fully embraced the diverse environment and the opportunity to work with people from a multitude of cultural backgrounds. Che-Chun focuses on topics related to the Taiwanese community and its culture in Sydney and also pays strong attention to the effects of globalisation and geopolitical issues.

Rena Li is a Mandarin Cross-Platform Journalist/Presenter who has more than 5 years of hands-on experience in reporting, content creation, and the passion to help the Chinese Australian community. Before she joined SBS, she was an investigative journalist responsible for reporting on court cases and suspected criminal activity and has also won the NSW Premier’s Multicultural Communications – Young Journalist of the Year Award for her contribution. Rena’s bond with SBS began at a multicultural ceremony hosted by the renowned SBS newsreader Lee Lin Chin which not only rekindled her passion for television news reporting but also inspired her to join Australia’s dedicated multilingual broadcaster. Rena hopes that through the efforts of the whole team, this new Mandarin TV news bulletins can be a comprehensive and objective channel for the Chinese community to get Australian news and understand national stories in their own language.

As a reporter and presenter in Sydney for over 12 years, Michelle has enjoyed listening to and amplifying voices from the Chinese community. Michelle was born in Hefei and came to Australia in 2005 to study a Bachelor and Master of Arts in International Communications at Macquarie University. Throughout her career, she has worked as a journalist for Phoenix TV and as a presenter at NetEase News, published thousands of cross platform news stories in legal business and arts sectors, and interviewed business leaders, celebrities, and politicians. Michelle joined SBS Mandarin News Australia 10 years ago as a TV journalist, worked on SBS Radio Mandarin as a broadcaster/producer/journalist before returning to her roots in television as a journalist and finance presenter for SBS News in Mandarin. Michelle hopes that in this new platform, SBS can help Chinese Australians stay informed with stories and information presented more vividly and timely that reflect their concerns and interests. In her spare time, Michelle can be found singing, hiking, playing tennis or currently studying for her MBA specialising in finance at UNSW.
