Sanya's debut novel 'Hospital' portrays Australian stories

Bangladeshi Australian Ms Sanya Rushdi grew up in Melbourne. She has been involved in writing for the last few years but this is the first time she wrote a novel called 'Hospital' on Australian context in Bangla language. The novel has been published from Bangladesh. Even she grew up and studied in Australia, her interests on Bangla language and literature deserve credit. Sanya speaks to SBS Bangla about her writing experiences.

Sanya Rushdi says the chain of events of her novel is derived from personal experiences. She says her family and friends inspired her for writing.

Sanya prefers to focus psychological philosophy in her stories. She believes human psychology depends on their languages and she brings about some arguments on that in her novel 'Hospital'.

Ms Sanya is generous about using colloquial words in her narrative but insists it still depends on its context and how the story unfolds.
