Bangladesh Bhaban is scheduled to be inaugurated jointly by Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina and the Indian premier Narendra Modi on May 25 at Shantiniketan in India.


It will promote Bangladeshi culture, heritage, history and literature in India, Bangladesh cultural affairs ministry officials said. 

There will be a library and a museum at the Bangladesh Bhaban which will display around 6,500 books and replicas of different historic documents and artefacts, they said.

Bangladesh government spent Indian Rupee 25 crore to build Bangladesh Bhahan on the land provided by the Indian university.
