Ingredients

  • 2 cups peeled and finely chopped apples
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1½ tbsp cornflour
  • 20 g butter
  • 30 wonton wrappers
  • Spray oil
  • Icing sugar and cinnamon for dusting
  • Whipped cream, to serve

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the apples, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, sugar and cornflour. Mix until just combined.
  2. Heat the butter in a large frying pan, then add the apple mixture and cook until just tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat.
  3. Take one dumpling wrapper from the package (making sure to keep the rest covered under a damp tea towel so they do not dry out). Wet the edges of the dumpling wrapper with water on your finger around the edges to help seal. Place a tablespoons of filling into the centre of the wrapper, then wrap the dumplings as you like. Repeat until all the dumplings have been folded.
  4. Lightly spray the folded dumplings with oil. Air fry the dumplings for 190˚C for 10 minutes, or until the dumplings are puffed and slightly crisp before using tongs to remove to a serving plate.
  5. Dust the apple pie dumplings with icing sugar and cinnamon and serve with whipped cream on the side for dipping.
