Ingredients
- 2 cups peeled and finely chopped apples
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1½ tbsp cornflour
- 20 g butter
- 30 wonton wrappers
- Spray oil
- Icing sugar and cinnamon for dusting
- Whipped cream, to serve
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the apples, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, sugar and cornflour. Mix until just combined.
- Heat the butter in a large frying pan, then add the apple mixture and cook until just tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat.
- Take one dumpling wrapper from the package (making sure to keep the rest covered under a damp tea towel so they do not dry out). Wet the edges of the dumpling wrapper with water on your finger around the edges to help seal. Place a tablespoons of filling into the centre of the wrapper, then wrap the dumplings as you like. Repeat until all the dumplings have been folded.
- Lightly spray the folded dumplings with oil. Air fry the dumplings for 190˚C for 10 minutes, or until the dumplings are puffed and slightly crisp before using tongs to remove to a serving plate.
- Dust the apple pie dumplings with icing sugar and cinnamon and serve with whipped cream on the side for dipping.
