Chai tea cakes in a mug

This 'comfort in a mug' microwave dessert is ready in just minutes.

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp self-raising flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 6 tbsp chai tea powder
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil, heated into liquid form
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Spray one large or two medium-sized mugs with cooking spray.
  2. Mix flour, salt, and chai tea powder together.
  3. Stir in the egg, coconut oil and 3 tbsp water until combined.
  4. Fill mug or mugs to halfway and cook in the microwave on high for 3 minutes. Serve immediately with a spoon.

Cook's Notes

Oven temperatures are for conventional; if using fan-forced (convection), reduce the temperature by 20˚C. | We use Australian tablespoons and cups: 1 teaspoon equals 5 ml; 1 tablespoon equals 20 ml; 1 cup equals 250 ml. | All herbs are fresh (unless specified) and cups are lightly packed. | All vegetables are medium size and peeled, unless specified. | All eggs are 55-60 g, unless specified.
