We're completely down with "brinner" - breakfast for dinner (or even, in some places, "brupper" - breakfast for supper). It's FUN to play with the rules, to eat what you really feel like, to break up the routines. There was even a book published this year . Now, if you're thinking we're talking tipping stuff from a box into a bowl, adding milk and digging in, well sure, that's a quick fix that more than a few of us might admit to. But here are ideas that take breakfast for dinner into far tastier territory, from hearty congee bowls to quick eggs and pancake stacks that don't even pretend to be dinner.

Traditionally, this fermented Indian crepe needs to be started several days in advance - it's well worth the effort, being tasty and nutritious (try our try potato-filled fermented ).
